26th Parallel reported: “…the Tea Party held in downtown Miami earlier today. Right in front of the Dade County Courthouse, an estimated crowd of about 200-250 people gathered on both sides of Flagler Street for a couple of hours between Noon and 2 PM. Young and old, English and Spanish, but one thing in common was a concern for the massive spending and general direction our country is headed toward. Lots of signs and flags, cars honking their horns, but a very respectful and courteous crowd with nary an offensive sign or display in sight. The organizer of the event, Marcos Sendon, did a great job considering this was a pure grassroots effort. As far as I could tell, only NBC 6/Telemundo brought out a cameraman to tape the event.” |
