Obama wants you to lose weight: “Cut the butter & cream. Hide the French fries. Make carrots the default choice! Substitute wheat pasta for white pasta..”
Now, the Obama political machine wants us to believe that:
1. Michelle Obama is just like us and shops where we shop.
2. The AP photographer also happened to be shopping at the same Target store.
Michelle Obama’s casual slip-out trip to Target is being met with scepticism, as media personalities deride the ‘incognito’ visit as a well-timed PR stunt.
Only last month the First Lady was accused of indulging in luxury holidays worth $10million dollars on the tax payers’ dime.
And barely a week ago the 47-year-old mother-of-two was criticised for wearing $40,000 diamonds to a fund-raising event…
Show the world that she really can do recession chic, Mrs Obama headed to a Target store in Alexandria, Virginia, on Thursday afternoon.
Secret Service officers reportedly swept the store on Highway 1, thirty minutes before Mrs Obama popped in for her housewives’ essentials- dog food and cleaning products…
Associated Press photographer Charles Dharapak caught a few images of Mrs Obama reaching the check out…
Radio host Rush Limbaugh also denounced the visit on his show as a ‘photo-op’…’You think the AP has photographers waiting outside stores for Moochelle to show up?” Limbaugh asked. “Who do they think we are?’ (…)
Certainly the White House have not so far denied that Dharapak was tipped off. (…)
Mrs Obama is currently involved in a major fund-raising effort in the run-up to her husband’s re-election campaign.
Here is Michelle Obama with her shopping assistant. (How many Americans have shopping assistants?):
The Energy Department on Wednesday approved federal loan guarantees for two green energy projects totaling more than $1 billion. It approved $337 million for a Mesquite Solar project in Arizona and $737 million for a Solar Reserve project in Nevada. The projects would create a total of 52-55 permanent jobs, according to earlier DOE figures and company statements. That’s about $20 million per permanent job.
Obama doesn’t care about the Solyndra scandal:
Solyndra, the solar-panel manufacturer that Obama touted as a gleaming example of green technology, filed for bankruptcy a few weeks ago despite receiving $535 million loan guarantee from the Obama administration in 2009. Solyndra is currently under numerous criminal and congressional investigations.
Obama marches on with green agenda – even if that destroys America.
Obama repeatedly pledged his health care plan would lower premiums. However, a recent study found that ObamaCare is contributing to the rising health insurance costs for Americans:
● Insurance premiums rose by 9% in 2011:
Health insurance costs for a single worker in 2011 went up on average from $5,049 to $5,429. The average premium for a family rose from $13,770 to $15,073.
● Some provisions of ObamaCare already in place contributed to 20% of that increase:
The two biggest changes this year allow young adults up to 26 years of age to remain on their parents’ insurance policy and require some insurance plans to cover preventive services.
The worst is yet to come: Most of ObamaCare provisions don’t go into effect until 2014.
This week, the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research and Educational Trust released a major survey on employer-sponsored health benefits in the United States. Among the many important findings in the report, one fact stood out: Americans are paying more and more for their health insurance every year, a concerning trend that is only getting worse under Obamacare. The report explains that:
The cost of insurance is increasingly unaffordable to American families. The cost of health insurance in the United States has grown significantly over the last decade. The Kaiser survey shows that the average annual premium for a family in 2011 is 31 percent higher than it was in 2006, and 113 percent higher than in 2001. This year marks the first year that the cost of family coverage will exceed $15,000, reports The Wall Street Journal’s Anna Wilde Matthews.
Small businesses especially struggle to offer health benefits to their employees because of cost. According to Kaiser, 55 percent of small firms surveyed that did not offer coverage cited the high cost of insurance as the primary reason.
FLASHBACK Obama in 2010: “Premiums will Decrease 3000% so you should get a Raise when ObamaCare is Passed”
“Your employer, it’s estimated, would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent…which means they could give you a raise.”
FACT: The Higher Your Income, the Greater Your Federal Tax Rate
The American Thinker debunks the lies perpetuated by the Left that “the rich pay lower tax rates” or that “the Bush’s tax cuts only benefited the rich.”
The taxes included in this chart are for all federal taxes, not just income taxes. Each quintile is one fifth of taxpayers, based on income. The top quintile is the one with the highest incomes.
From just this one graph, several observations can be drawn.
The most obvious observation is that the higher your income, the greater your federal tax rate is. Taxpayers in the top quintile paid about 25% of their income in federal taxes, while those in the bottom quintile paid about 5% in 2007.
The rate for the top quintile has been very steady for the last thirty years: about 25%. In fact, the rate since the Bush cuts went into full effect (2003-07) was about the same as twenty years before (1983-87).
The same cannot be said for the lower quintiles; they have trended downward, especially since the Bush cuts in 2003. For the lowest quintile in particular, the rate has drifted downward since 1984, from about 10% of income to about 4%. That is a cut in the tax rate of about 60% for the lowest quintile, versus no cut in rate for the top quintile.
Changes in these rates cannot be explained by changes in income. The rate is taxes paid divided by income. If your taxes went up only because your income went up, then your rate would not change.
Reagan’s tax cuts became fully effective in 1983. But look at the trend in average tax rate for the highest quintile of earners after that. It went up. That upward trend on the richest Americans went up for seventeen years after Reagan’s tax cuts.
The same cannot be said for the lower quintiles. Tax rates for the lower 80% of taxpayers remained virtually flat, or trended downward, from 1983 to 2000.
A cut on the capital gains tax rate became effective in 1997. Do you see any kind of accompanying dip in the average tax rate for the highest quintile in that year or shortly after? Nope. The rate is pretty flat from 1993 to 2000.
The Bush tax cuts did cut tax rates — for all income groups. The cut was about 2%-3% of income for all quintiles. But since the lower income groups were paying lower rates in the first place, the constant cut across income groups meant that tax rates were cut proportionally more for lower income groups. For example: the top quintile was cut from about 27% to about 24%, which is a cut in the rate of 11%. But the bottom quintile was cut from about 7% to about 4%, a cut in the rate of over 40%.
Agitator-in-Chief Obama told blacks on Saturday to quit crying and complaining and “put on your marching shoes” to help him fight.
Obama: “I expect all of you to march with me and press on. Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining. Stop grumbling. Stop crying. We are gonna press on. We’ve got work to do.”
