Obama Regulations Four Times more than Bush

Posted by FactReal on March 19, 2012

Obama Tops Bush With More, Costlier Major Regulations:

In his first three years of presidency, President George W. Bush imposed 28 major regulations at a cost of $8.1 billion. Obama imposed 106 major regulations at a cost of $46 billion.

“This is almost four times the number—and more than five times the cost—of the major regulations issued by George W. Bush during his first three years,” according to the report.

Red Tape Rising:

During the three years of the Obama Administration, a total of 106 new major regulations have been imposed at a cost of more than $46 billion annually, and nearly $11 billion in one-time implementation costs. This amount is about five times the cost imposed by the prior Administration of George W. Bush.

This regulatory tide is not expected to ebb anytime soon. Hundreds of new regulations are winding through the rulemaking pipeline as a consequence of the vast Dodd–Frank financial-regulation law (the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act), Obamacare, and the Environmental Protection Agency’s global warming crusade, threatening to further weaken an anemic economy and job creation.

* Major regulations, as defined by the government, are regulations that cost up to $100 million or more each year.

(Interview with Los Angeles Times – Nov. 7, 2011)

EASTWOOD: “I’ve always been very liberal when it comes to people thinking for themselves,” said Eastwood, who supports gay marriage, abortion rights and environmental protection. “But I’m a big hawk on cutting the deficit. I was against the stimulus thing too. We shouldn’t be bailing out the banks and car companies. If a CEO can’t figure out how to make his company profitable, then he shouldn’t be the CEO.”

Red Light Cameras Failing at Revenue Generation and Public Safety

Posted by FactReal on February 7, 2012

TRAFFIC CAMERAS ARE ABOUT REVENUE, NOT PUBLIC SAFETY
Via Canada Free Press:
The whole thing [of Red light cameras] is about revenue generation, not public safety. Most city administrations try desperately to hide their greed behind hoary claims of safeguarding the public…

…[R]ed light cameras are increasingly failing at both revenue generation and public safety. Many cities that once had them have pulled them out because revenues dropped over time while maintenance costs continued to rise not to mention that some cities have found that the red light cameras actually cause more accidents instead of improving driver safety.

Worse, some cities have played games with the cameras in order to keep revenues flowing into their profligate hands. At least six cities were caught shortening yellow light times in order to catch more drivers running red lights.

…[N]ew red light cameras won’t bring in a never ending stream of spending cash. Ohio native Maggie Thurber notes that Toledo has already seen revenues fall from other red light camera installations.

…Since 2009 when the city added speed cameras and negotiated a higher percentage of the fines, the revenue has steadily decreased. This means that the city, in order to continue to collect their targeted budget amounts, must constantly expand the big-brother-type surveillance.

OBAMA SCANDAL: 11 More Solyndras in Obama Energy Program

Posted by FactReal on January 17, 2012

POLITICAL PAYBACK
Real Clear Politics reports:
CBS News counted 12 clean energy companies that are having trouble after collectively being approved for more than $6.5 billion in federal assistance. Five have filed for bankruptcy: The junk bond-rated Beacon, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, AES’ subsidiary Eastern Energy and Solyndra.

According to CBS News, Beacon Power, a “green energy storage company,” recieved [sic] $43 million from the government.

The Right Scoop explains the gist of the scandal:
Obama is simply pouring our tax dollars down the ‘clean energy’ crap hole with no regard for whether it is a good investment or not…They only thing missing in this story is how these clean energy CEOs are politically connected to the Obama administration. Just like Solyndra, this smells a lot like political payback and why this isn’t running 24/7…

Obama’s Lavish 2009 Halloween Party was Kept a Secret (Photo)

Posted by FactReal on January 10, 2012

NO TRANSPARENCY IN OBAMA’S WONDERLAND
The Obamas partied while Americans were struggling during the recession
Via UK Daily Mail
After it was revealed that the Obamas hosted a lavish Halloween party in 2009 during a low point of the recession, people are now questioning how the event was kept a secret for two years.  [...]

The New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor who exposed the party in her new book, The Obamas, maintained that the reason why it was kept so quiet at the time was because the administration was aware that it would be in poor form for them to host an extravagant party when so many were suffering financially.  [...]

The Alice in Wonderland themed Halloween party was held in the State Dining room and was complete with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Tim Burton-arranged decorations.

They even talked to Star Wars director George Lucas and convinced him to lend them the original Chewbacca costume for the entertainment of their guests.

‘White House officials were so nervous about how a splashy, Hollywood-esque party would look to jobless Americans — or their representatives in Congress, who would soon vote on health care — that the event was not discussed publicly and Burton’s and Depp’s contributions went unacknowledged,’ recounts Jodi Kantor in her book, ‘The Obamas’.

As is tradition, the Obamas handed out treats to Washington, D.C. school children earlier in the day, and while that event was covered heavily by the press, their later festivities were very actively kept secret.

…[T]he guests at the invitation-only party had bone-shaped meringue cookies and fruit punch served in blood vials. [...]

The Halloween party took place five months before Mr Burton’s Alice in Wonderland film was released, so the kids served as informal taste-testers and gave an indication of how his spooky take on the Disney classic would be received.

As the children walked into the State Dining Room, they were greeted by a fully-costumed Johnny Depp standing on a table decorated with vintage-inspired table cloths and surrounded by giant stuffed animals.

Planned Parenthood Got $487.4 Million in Taxpayer Money to Abort 329,445 Babies

Posted by FactReal on January 5, 2012

OBAMA’S FRIENDS AT WORK
CNSNews reports:
According to its latest annual report, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) received $487.4 million in tax dollars over a twelve-month period and performed 329,455 abortions.

In addition, the number of adoption referrals made by the organization continued to decline.

The latest annual report covers the period from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010, the PPFA’s fiscal year. The report states that the organization received “government health services grants and reimbursements” totaling $487.4 million.

What are taxpayers getting for their buck?
  • 329,445 abortions, making up 91% of Planned Parenthood’s services to pregnant women. Of the three million people that walked through the doors of a Planned Parenthood clinic, one out of 12 received an abortion.
  • 31,098 prenatal services for women, making up just 8.6% of overall services to pregnant woman.
  • 841 adoption referrals, a mere 0.2% of services to pregnant women. (This number continues to drop. In 2008, PP reported 2,405 adoption referrals).
