MORE VIOLENCE IN MEXICO

More than 15 decapitated, dismembered bodies found in two abandoned vehicles on the side of a highway in the small town of Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos near Guadalajara (State of Jalisco, Mexico) on the road to Lake Chapala, a site popular with foreign tourists and American retirees – May 9, 2012. AFP via Yahoo-Canada reported yesterday:

Police found the dismembered, decapitated bodies of 15 people in two abandoned vehicles in western Mexico Wednesday in an apparent revenge killing between powerful drug gangs.

Police initially counted 12 bodies dumped in the car on a road between Mexico’s second city of Guadalajara and the lakeside city of Chapala, known for its North American expatriate community.

An anonymous call alerted police to the abandoned vehicles, and the bodies were taken to forensic services in Guadalajara, a police official said.

Jalisco state attorney general Tomas Coronado Olmos called an urgent meeting with the state governor and said the killings appeared to have been in revenge for 23 killings last Friday in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas.

An arrested woman said that the killings were “the repercussion for what happened in Tamaulipas,” Coronado Olmos said.

The woman said she belonged to a local gang called Milenio, linked to the brutal Zetas drug gang.

Via Reuters-UK:

[I]t was one of the biggest mass beheadings in the recent history of Mexico, where decapitations have become alarmingly common.

The bodies and heads were stuffed into two vehicles abandoned on the side of a highway in the small town of Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, said Tomas Coronado, chief prosecutor for the state of Jalisco.

Some of the bodies had been refrigerated before they were dumped, Coronado said.

A policeman at the scene in Ixtlahuacan said some victims had been so badly mutilated that officers could not determine whether they were male or female. [...]

Guadalajara, known for its high-tech industry, mariachi bands and tequila, has been a strategic base for drug traffickers since the 1980s. [...]

Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos lies 18 miles (29 km) south of the centre of Guadalajara on the road to Lake Chapala, a site popular with foreign tourists and American retirees.

Other media outlets report 18 people were found decapitated (not 15):

History: ‘Cinco de Mayo’

Posted by FactReal on May 5, 2012

Despite a common misconception, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day and is virtually ignored in Mexico. Some say this holiday was introduced in the U.S. by the anti-American Chicano Movement and it became more popular in the 1980s when beer companies decided to promote the party atmosphere. Other Latinos don’t observe this holiday, but may join Americans in drinking tequila and eating Mexican food. In recent years, the day is used to promote the Mexican culture and even pro-illegal-immigration policies.

TIME Magazine reported that Americans see this day as an excuse to drink and party:

Despite what some people inaccurately think, Cinco de Mayo does not mark Mexican Independence Day (that would be Sept. 16). The holiday, rather, commemorates the 1862 battle of Puebla that Mexico fought and won against the advancing French army, led by Emperor Napoleon III…Today the holiday is celebrated in the town of Puebla, but it’s not an obligatory holiday in the country.

Still, that doesn’t really explain why the day is so popular in the U.S. Cinco de Mayo started to come into vogue in 1940s America during the rise of the Chicano movement. And much like every other holiday in existence, it became commercialized — in this case, by the alcohol companies trying to tap into the Hispanic market. Thus was born a day of drinking tequila while wearing a stereotypical sombrero. So much for supporting Mexican pride and nationalism.

Brief history of the Cinco de Mayo (Fifth of May):

Cinco de Mayo is more of a holiday in the U.S. than in Mexico. Mexicans know that in the second Battle of Puebla in 1863, French troops crushed the Mexican army, days later occupied Mexico City, and continued to rule Mexico for the following four years.

The French Emperor Napoleon III dared to send troops to occupy Mexico only because the United States was preoccupied with its own War Between the States, a.k.a. our Civil War. When our war ended, we massed a huge American army on the Texas border with Mexico and informed the French Emperor that under the Monroe Doctrine we would not tolerate European control of Mexico.

Napoleon III beat a hasty retreat, leaving his installed “liberal” Hapsburg puppet “Emperor of Mexico” Maximilian I to be overthrown and executed by the locals in 1867. But drinking their beer each Cinco de Mayo, educated Mexicans bitterly remember that it was pressure from the United States that liberated their country from French colonial rule. The cultural residue of French influence in Mexico remains in many odd ways, e.g., the hired singers called Mariachis, whose name (despite frantic Mexican nationalist denials) was first used in 1852 and probably derives from the French word for marriage that arrived via the surreal 1838 French incursion known as “the Pastry War.”

France could also be blamed for Mexico’s loss of what is now the western United States. Napoleon I sold the U.S. the Louisiana Territory, which created a potential legal claim to a large, poorly-defined share of the wild West. Napoleon I also overthrew the government of Spain and put his own brother on the Spanish throne, which plunged Spain’s colonies such as Mexico into political chaos. The resulting uprisings in Mexico ousted Spain and installed a domestic revolutionary government that could not control the centrifugal forces that broke apart Spain’s old North American empire in Mexico (as well as South America with the uprisings of Simon Bolivar and Jose San Martin).

Many who stayed in the New World remained loyal to Spain. Mexico thus sent troops three times into California to suppress revolutionary Californios who did not want to be ruled by newly independent Mexico. The lands now part of the western United States were slipping free from Mexico’s tenuous, anti-democratic control even before America moved to secure them (preemptively, as it were, before Great Britain attempted to do so).

When American forces arrived in California in 1846, half the Californios greeted the Trailblazer John C. Fremont (in 1856 to become the first Republican presidential candidate) and his men as liberators freeing them from Mexican tyranny. President Abraham Lincoln returned to the Roman Catholic Church the Spanish missions that the greedy and corrupt Mexican government had expropriated.

Spain might have a weak historic claim to the southwestern United States. But post-revolutionary Mexico has virtually no legitimate claim whatsoever, contrary to the propaganda of racist groups such as MEChA. Since such groups speak of a mythical land they call Aztlan that they aim to restore, were the Aztecs ever here? Apparently not, except for rare raiding parties to attack tribes near today’s Mexican border in search of fresh victims for its pagan human sacrifices. What sane person would embrace such a flimsy territorial claim?

Many Mexicans Believe the Southwestern U.S. belongs to Mexico

Posted by FactReal on May 5, 2012

THEY CALL IT “THE NATION OF AZTLAN” AND WANT IT BACK
(Double-click image to enlarge)
FrontPage Magazine reported on the radicals behind the pro-illegal-immigration groups and their agenda of “reclaiming” the southwestern United States for Mexico. They call that region Nation of Aztlán:

At colleges and universities across the country, the Movimiento Estudiantil de Chicanos de Aztlan (The Student Movement of Aztlan Chicanos) — better known by its acronym, MEChA — is calling for the surrender of wide swaths of American territory to Mexico. Worse yet, in doing so, it has the support of university administrators, elected officials, and — thanks to the mandatory student activity fees on which the organization depends — tuition-paying students.

Founded in the late 1960s, MEChA has spent the last three decades indoctrinating Latino students on American campuses in the ideology of reconquista (reconquest). According to MEChA propaganda, the Southwestern United States — including California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, as well as parts of Nevada, Utah, and Colorado — sits on the territory of the ancient (and mythical) “Nation of Aztlan.” Supposedly the cradle of Aztec civilization, MEChA charges that Aztlan was unjustly seized by the United States following the Mexican-American War. Now MEChA wants this territory given back to its alleged rightful owners: the people and government of Mexico.

As a matter of fact, the American Southwest was not, as MEChA claims, “stolen” from Mexico. Following the Mexican-American War, the government of Mexico legally ceded this territory to the United States (by the Treaty of Guadalupe de Hidalgo, 1848). Nor has there ever been any place called “Aztlan” on American soil, much less a “Nation of Aztlan.” Invented 30 years ago by radical Latino activists, the Nation of Atzlan has more in common with Atlantis than with Israel. [...]

By supporting continued high levels of Mexican immigration to the United States, MEChA hopes to achieve by sheer weight of numbers what the U.S. government long ago achieved by force of arms: the re-partition of the American Southwest. To this end, MEChA endorses a cocktail of pro-immigration policies. These include open borders, government benefits (including the right to vote and obtain drivers licenses) for non-citizens, amnesty for illegal aliens, dual citizenship, state recognition of Spanish as an official language, and racial set-asides in education and corporate hiring.

MEChA is hardly alone in promoting these policies. The National Council of La Raza [the Race] and the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), two of the better known Latino advocacy groups, also support them

As one of MEChA’s founding documents, El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan (The Spiritual Plan of Atzlan) puts it: “In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal ‘gringo’ invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.”

El Plan Espiritual is typical, not just for its atrocious prose, but also for its violent racial overtones. Indeed, to judge by the numerous Web sites and student publications sponsored by MEChA, life after the reconquest is going to be a pretty dreary affair. Just beneath the surface of the Marxist-inspired “union of free pueblos” imagined by MEChA visionaries runs a rich vein of race hatred and conspiratorial anti-Semitism. As an editorial addressed to “capitalist whites” in the University of California Irvine’s La Voz Mestiza (The Mestiza Voice) concludes, “You’ve spilled enough of our blood, now it’s your turn to bleed you [expletive] sub-human beasts.” Or, as one of MEChA’s many charming slogans has it, “por la Raza todo; fuera la Raza nada”: for those of our race, everything; for those outside of it, nothing.

Via CNSNews.com:
The U.S. side of the southwest border is home to “some of the safest communities in America,” Gene Garza, the director of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Laredo, Texas field office, told lawmakers on Tuesday. [...]

However, the U.S. Attorneys’ Annual Statistical Report for Fiscal Year 2011 paints a different picture, showing that 80 percent of all cases filed against criminal defendants in U.S. Magistrate Courts were filed in districts along the U.S.-Mexican border. [...]

There were 71,387 cases filed in U.S. Magistrate Courts against criminal defendants between Oct. 1, 2010 and Sept. 20, 2011 (FY 2011), according to the Attorneys’ latest statistical report. Among those cases, 57,310 (80 percent) occurred along the southwest border.

Despite the U.S. Attorneys’ data, DHS Secretary Napolitano echoed Garza’s claims that the border communities are among the safest in the country, testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 25: “Violent crime in U.S. border communities has also remained flat or fallen over the past decade, and statistics have shown that some of the safest communities in America are along the border.”

Do you feel any safer now?

IRS: Paying Taxes Is Pathway to Citizenship for Illegal Aliens

Posted by FactReal on April 9, 2012

GOVERNMENT INCENTIVIZING MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION?
We now know illegal aliens have been filing tax returns to get tax credits from the IRS. Many times, these tax credits exceed what little taxes they had paid. Illegal aliens do not file tax returns because they suddenly care about the U.S. laws…laws they broke when they entered this country illegally and when they decided to work without proper authorization, etc., etc.

Now, government officials want to give them citizenship for “paying taxes”? Stupid is as stupid does.

CNSNews reported:

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said Thursday that paying taxes is a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens.

At the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., 12 days  before this year’s tax-filing deadline (Apr. 17), Shulman was asked about what his  agency is doing to collect taxes from illegal aliens.

“You know, it’s a great question,” he said. “One of the pathways to  citizenship that people believe is a good one is–even if you’re not  in this country legally–to pay taxes.”

Illegal aliens file tax returns to get tax credits from IRS:

According to a Treasury Inspector General audit,
Individuals Who Are Not Authorized to Work in the United States Were Paid $4.2 Billion in Refundable Credits. [...]

Although the law prohibits aliens residing without authorization in the United States from receiving most Federal public benefits, an increasing number of these individuals are filing tax returns claiming the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), a refundable tax credit intended for working families. The payment of Federal funds through this tax benefit appears to provide an additional incentive for aliens to enter, reside, and work in the United States without authorization, which contradicts Federal law and policy to remove such incentives.

This is how we are losing our country.

ICE Overstating Immigration Deportations; Obama Blocking Access to Data

Posted by FactReal on January 6, 2012

MORE GOVERNMENT LIES & OBSTRUCTIONS
Syracuse University study – 1/4/2012:
Case-by-case records provided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) show that many fewer individuals were apprehended, deported or detained by the agency than were claimed in its official statements…ICE statements claimed almost five times more individual apprehensions than revealed in the data, as well as 24 times more individuals deported and 34 times more detentions.
Andrew C. McCarthy reports:
A just-released Syracuse University study indicates that the government is overstating its enforcement of the immigration laws by a staggering amount. According to TRAC, Syracuse’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) has overstated the number of immigration law violators apprehended by a 5:1 ratio…Deportations were overstated by 24:1 and detentions by 34:1.

TRAC says that ICE has represented, not only in press releases but in congressional testimony, that in 2005 it apprehended 102,034. The records it produced, however, show only 21,339. It further claimed 166,075 deportations but documented only 6,906; and said it had detained 233,417 when the paperwork shows only 6,778.

TRAC notes that the Obama administration delayed complying with its FOIA request for nearly two years (it was submitted in May 2010). TRAC argues that ICE has either geometrically inflated its performance or grossly violated FOIA in withholding information. ICE, according to TRAC, has also attempted to obstruct compliance with FOIA…by insisting that previously provided statistical data was suddenly considered “unavailable,” and by charging over a half-million dollars in processing fees.
