Obama OK’s Libya Airstrikes but in 2007 Accused Troops of “Just Air-Raiding Villages and Killing Civilians” (Video)

|Last Saturday, Obama ordered airstrikes on Libya and said he will NOT send ground forces to Libya. This is the same man who in 2007 accused American troops of “JUST air-raiding villages and killing civilians.”
|Back on August 13, 2007, during an appearance before about 800 people in Nashua, New Hampshire, then-presidential hopeful Barack Obama derided American troops by accusing them of “JUST air-raiding villages and killing civilians.” The word “JUST” is key here. Obama made it sound as if Bush’s military strategy was so wrong that U.S. troops were left with only one option – to bomb and kill innocent civilians in Afghanistan.
The Nashua Telegraph reported the event: (Emphasis by FactReal)
|Obama defended his push to prosecute a tougher military effort to root out al-Qaida on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, which drew criticism from primary rivals for sounding too bellicose.
“Now you have narco drug lords who are helping to finance the Taliban, so we’ve got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not JUST air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there,” Obama said.
Campaign spokesman Reid Cherlin said Obama was not endorsing the current Bush policy, which consists SOLELY of air raids and bombing of civilians.
|Yep, not only Obama but his campaign spokesman said that American troops were SOLELY air-raiding and bombing civilians in Afghanistan.|
– Obama ordered raid kills 14 in Pakistan
– Obama’s military operation in Afghanistan kills 16 civilians
