Miami-Dade Commissioners Set Special Election for May 24, 2011 to Replace Alvarez and Seijas

Next Miami Election – 5/24/2011
At today’s special meeting, Miami-Dade county commissioners scheduled the next special election for May 24, 2011 to replace the two recalled politicians: county mayor Carlos Alvarez and District 13 commissioner Natacha Seijas.

RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL ELECTION IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2011, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY THE CANDIDATES TO FILL THE VACANCY CREATED BY THE RECALL OF THE MAYOR AND THE COUNTY COMMISSIONER FOR DISTRICT 13, AND IF NECESSARY A SPECIAL RUN-OFF ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 2011

1) INCREASE SALARY & SET 12-YEAR TERM LIMIT
2) NO LOBBYING
3) TASK FORCE
4) INSPECTOR
5) NO STRONG MAYOR
6) EASIER PETITIONS…not really
