6/18/2016: Trump Assassination Attempt at Rally in Las Vegas (Videos)

Posted by FactReal on October 29, 2018

Any proof? No.
(This would-be Trump assassin obviously ignores the true history about fascism and racism in America.)

His name: Michael Steven Sandford
On June 18, 2016, Sandford tried to seize a firearm from a Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer for the purpose of shooting then-candidate Donald Trump.

This BBC clip[1] shows that tense moment (…and Sandford’s family defending him):

ABC reported:[2]

From a BBC documentary[3] we learn what Michael Sandford said:

When questioned by the Secret Service, Michael Sandford stated:(Video mark 1:08 to 1:17)
– He wanted to shoot and kill Trump.
– He said, “Donald Trump is a racist; he deserves to die.”

When arrested, Sandford told detectives: (Video mark 33:12 to 33:43)
– The greater good will be to lose his own life rather than have Trump as president.
– He stated that it was not a cry for help – only the right thing to do.
– Officer: “You know what you did, right?”
– Sandford: “Well…yeah.”
– Officer: “Okay. I just want to make sure.
– Sandford:” “Yeah, I get it.”

Sandford had this exchange with a police officer: (Video mark 36:37 to 37:23)
– Sandford: “Regardless of your opinion, he is racist – he needs to be stopped.”
– Officer: “Do you think what you are doing is right?”
– Sandford: “The ends justify the means.”
– Officer: “This is America, land of the free, right? Everybody … they are entitled to what they want to say and do, right?”
– Sandford: “Well, I mean, within reason, yes.”
– Officer: “No, everyone is entitled. This is America. That’s the rule.”
– Sandford: “Not when someone’s racist.”
– Officer: “Everyone is entitled to say what they want to say. Freedom of speech.”
– Sandford: “That doesn’t mean it’s right, though, if someone’s being racist.”
– Sandford: “How can you think racism that is correct?”
– Officer: “Violence is wrong.”
– Sandford: “I disagree with that.”

– Sandford said he had been planning to attempt to kill Trump for about a year.
– Sandford had seen in the news a few days prior that Trump was coming to Las Vegas to speak.
– Sandford then made a conscious effort to come to Las Vegas to kill Trump.
– Sandford drove to Las Vegas from California in his black 2007 BMW to kill Trump.
– He went the previous day to a gun range in Las Vegas to practice shooting.
– Sandford said he targeted that particular police officer because he believed he saw the officer’s holster in an unlocked position. He reasoned it would be the easiest way to acquire a gun to shoot Trump.
– Sandford stated that if he were on the street tomorrow, he would try this again.

The BBC reported:[5]

While Trump was speaking at a Las Vegas rally, Michael walked up to a police officer and chatted to him for a few seconds, telling the officer that he wanted the presidential candidate’s autograph. Suddenly, Michael lunged at him, grabbing the Glock 17 in his holster.

Later, Michael wrote a statement saying that he wanted to “shoot and kill Donald Trump,” adding, “Donald Trump is a racist, he deserves to die.”

Michael was quickly pinned down and rushed out of the arena. As one Trump supporter put it, he had almost changed the course of history.

He had only been in the US for 18 months.

According to Michael’s mother, Lynne, who is interviewed in the new BBC Three documentary, The Brit Who Tried to Kill Trump, Michael had moved to New York to meet a girl he’d become romantically involved with online. Once there, she says, his behaviour became “erratic”.

The Daily Mirror reported:[6]

He had been living with his American girlfriend who, like millions of others, held strongly critical opinions of Trump.

Sandford, who has obsessive compulsive disorder and Asperger’s syndrome, said his friends feared Trump was going to “destroy the country”.

Las Vegas Review Journal reported[7]

The defendant told a U.S. Secret Service agent that he drove to Las Vegas from California in his black 2007 BMW to kill Trump, the complaint alleges.

According to the complaint, Sandford said he thought he saw the officer’s 9 mm Glock pistol in an unlocked position and figured that would be the easiest way to acquire a gun and shoot Trump.

Sandford said he thought he could fire one to two rounds at the candidate before being killed by law enforcement, the complaint alleges.
