List: 50 Reasons Why Dems’ “Inflation Reduction Act” is Bad for Americans

Posted by FactReal on August 8, 2022

THE DEMOCRATS’ BILL: “INFLATION REDUCTION ACT”
Translation: When Democrats say ‘reduction’ that means it’s going to do the opposite.

Senate Passed $700 Billion ‘Inflation Reduction’ Bill yesterday: (Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022)

The Senate on Sunday passed the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act, a scaled-down version of the Build Back Better Act.

The Senate voted to pass H.R. 5376, otherwise known as the Inflation Reduction Act, 51-50. The legislation passed on a party-line vote, with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the tie.

LIST: 50 Radical Policies in the Inflation Reinforcement Act

Congressman Jim Banks (R-IN) and the Republican Study Committee produced a list of the “far-reaching and far-left cultural and economic policies hidden in bills 725 pages of legislative text.”

FULL LIST: Here.

SUMMARIZED LIST
1. $369 billion for green/radical environmental climate policies…effectively subsidizing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP.)

2a. Increases taxes on American companies by $313 billion, just days after the U.S. officially entered the Biden Recession (currently, a 40+ year high in inflation, exceeding 9%).

2b. Kills 27,000 jobs. (Page 2)

2c. Hits working class Americans even harder by worsening current supply chain problems and raising energy costs.

3. Fake Deficit Reduction: Gimmicks in the bill: Spending on the Obamacare bailout is $184 billion more than claimed by Democrats. Spends $400+ billion on Green New Deal giveaways. The CBO will score no savings from the Democrats $80 billion scheme to spy on and harass Americans with 87,000 new IRS agents. The bill adds $114 billion in new debt over 10 years.

4. Reduces American investment by increasing taxes on carried interest income by $14 billion. This will kill jobs, cause pensions to lose billions of dollars, reduce wages for working
class Americans, and make our current stagflation worse.

5. Biden’s IRS Army: Adds $80 billion to hire IRS agents who will spy on Americans making financial transactions totaling more than $10,000.

6. Price Controls to Kill Life Saving Drugs: The bill would institute a socialist price control
regime to force certain drug manufacturers to accept whatever price the Biden administration
thinks is reasonable, or face a potential 95 percent tax (page 123).

7. Obamacare Expansion: : The bill would extend the Obamacare subsidy expansions which can even benefit people making as much as $300,000. (page 231)

8. Payoff to Union Bosses which will kill jobs and are pay-off to labor union bosses.

9. Forces taxpayers to give $60 billion in corporate welfare to green energy
corporations while artificially holding back oil and gas development. (page 232) (page 254)

10. “Environmental justice”: The bill establishes a new “environmental justice solar and wind capacity limitation program” to give a windfall to solar and wind energy production companies. (page 276)

11. Gives Tax Breaks for Rich People to Buy Green Appliances and forces working class Americans to pay for it. (page 331)

12. Tax Breaks for Rich People to Buy Solar Panels. (page 344)

13. Tax Breaks for Fancy Green Corporate Offices. (page 347) Last fiscal year, this tax break cost taxpayers nearly $200 million.

14. Tax Breaks for Construction of Green Homes. This credit forces taxpayers to subsidize the
construction of “energy-efficient” homes that can be $125,000 more expensive than traditional
homes.

15. Subsidizing Electric Vehicles for the Wealthy paid by working class taxpayers. (pages 366, 387)

16. $10 billion Subsidies for inefficient green energy paid by taxpayers. (page 406)

17. Making Energy MORE Expensive – Part 1: The bill would inexplicably raise the Superfund excise tax rate on crude oil and imported petroleum from 9.7 cents/gallon to 16.4 cents/gallon. (page 440)

18. Forces taxpayers to subsidize facilities that use inefficient energy sources and increase energy prices. (page 442, 464)

19. Making Energy MORE Expensive – Part 2: The bill would increase energy costs for consumers by permanently extending certain taxes paid by coal mining operations. (page 524)

20. Radicalizing the Department of Agriculture: $20 billion funneled through the Department
of Agriculture toward the left’s Green New Deal priorities. (page 527)

21. Cow Farts are BACK! The bill would require the Secretary of Agriculture to use taxpayer money to feed cows food that won’t make them fart. (page 529)

22. $8.45 billion for “Environmental Justice” in Agriculture – Part 1: to support Climate-Smart agriculture. (Page 528)

23. $3.25 + $1.4 billion for “Environmental Justice” in Agriculture – Part 2: for the Conservation Stewardship Program and the Conservation Easement Program. (Page 530)

24. $6.75 billion to promote “Environmental Justice” in Agriculture – Part 3: for the regional conservation partnership program. (Page 532) All of these are supposed to mostly focus on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

25. $1 billion in Free Money! Additional funding for renewable energy storage projects, but the
Biden administration can choose to make these so-called “loans” 100% forgivable with no
strings attached, (Page 539)

26. $9.7 billion in taxpayer funded subsidies for the construction of solar energy and other renewable energy systems in rural areas (Page 543)

27. $1.5 billion to plant trees in liberal cities.

28. $500 million slush fund for the Biden administration to carry out its radical climate
agenda under the guise of a national emergency. (Page 557)

29. $4.5 billion for free green appliances. (Page 595)

30. $40 billion of taxpayer backed climate change loans for the Secretary of Energy to support “projects” that reduce greenhouse gases. (Page 600)

31. $3 billion in Electric Vehicle Subsidies – Part 1.The bill would unleash the Biden administration to provide an untold amount of loans for electric vehicle development backed with taxpayer money. (Page 603)

32. $2 billion in Electric Vehicle Subsidies – Part 2 for the DOE to provide grants for domestic production of hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, and electric vehicles (page 604).

33. Quarter TRILLION of Guaranteed Green Loans: $5 billion in spending to support $250 billion
in DOE loan guarantees and loan refinancing for green energy infrastructure projects and
remediation activities. (page 605).

34. Making Energy MORE Expensive – Part 3: The bill would increase royalties paid by energy companies, which will be passed along to consumers in the form of even higher prices. (Pages 632, 633)

35. Making Energy MORE Expensive – Part 4: The bill would also balloon other fees applicable
to onshore oil and gas energy production by quintupling the minimum bid amount (page 634),
raising the rental rate 1,000% by when a lease hits the eight year mark (page 635), etc.

36. Making Energy MORE Expensive – Part 5: The bill would also expand royalty requirements
applicable to onshore and offshore production to cover methane produced, consumed or lost,
instead of that which is produced and sold. (Page 640)

37. $1 billion to give away free zero-emission heavy duty vehicles, including to contractors, local governments, and school districts. (Page 650)

38. $27 billion to Force Low-income Communities to Rely on Unreliable Energy Sources. (Page 658)

39. $60 million in taxpayer subsidies for so-called diesel emission reductions grants, which in the past have
gone towards wasteful projects. (Page 663)

40. $87 million to launch a propaganda campaign to “educate” communities on reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. (Page 668)

41. $5 million to fund the radical ESG Movement for the EPA to support “transparency” surrounding “corporate climate action commitments.” (Page 675)

42. Carbon Labeling: The bill would force taxpayers to waste $100 million for labeling
construction materials based on carbon emissions. (page 691)

43. Climate Justice Crusade: The bill would give $3 billion for the EPA to spend on, among other
things, regulatory emissions enforcement, inventing new jobs to carry out the left’s green
agenda, and for lobbying state and local governments for more regulations. (page 695)

44. Infrastructure is Racist…Again: The bill would spend $3 billion for the Department of
Transportation to undertake projects to address its claim that infrastructure is racist. (page
699)

45. Greening Federal Office Space: The bill would waste $2.15 billion of taxpayer money to
ensure that the the federal government is issuing “low-embodied carbon materials” when
constructing or altering federal office space. (Page 707) It would also create a $975 million
green tech slush fund for the GSA. (Page 708)

46. Low-Emission Highway Materials: The bill would hand $2 billion of taxpayer money to
transportation construction companies so that they use “low-embodied carbon construction
materials” in highway projects, an unnecessary expense designed to advance the Biden
administration’s radical vision. (Page 712).

47. Ignoring Biden’s Border Crisis: Rather than spending a dime to address his ongoing border
crisis, the bill would spend $500 million to make sure that the Department of Homeland
Security (which is supposed to be securing the border and enforcing our nation’s immigration
laws) is carrying out “sustainability and environmental programs.” (page 716).

48. Electric Postal Trucks: $3 billion for a new fleet of electric Postal trucks. (page 717).

49. Equity Enforcement: The bill would spend $25 million for the the GAO to ensure that the
hundreds of billions of dollars spent by the bill are distributed pursuant to the Biden
administration’s notion of equitable. (Page 718).

50. Raiding the DRF: The bill would authorize the Biden administration to raid the Disaster Relief Fund for purchasing low-carbon materials instead of helping communities reeling from natural disasters. (Page 719)

Hollywood Welfare Paid by Taxpayers

Posted by FactReal on February 25, 2013

George Clooney’s film, Argo, received $6.21 million in tax credits
ObamaClooneyBFF
Via Forbes:

Even as the Hollywood glitterati ruminate about social responsibility and the need for the wealthy “one percent” to pay their “fair share,” Hollywood millionaires and moguls are bagging an estimated $1.51 billion in tax revenues annually through something called “film tax credits.”

Consider a few of this year’s Oscar nominated films. According to a new report by the Government Accountability Institute, Quentin Tarantino’s controversial spaghetti Western, Django Unchained, featuring Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio has applied to receive an estimated $8.4 million in film tax credits from the State of Louisiana. Actor-director Ben Affleck and producer George Clooney’s film, Argo, received $6.21 million in tax credits from the California Film Commission. Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, featuring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, and Tommy Lee Jones, hauled in $3.5 million in tax-free film credits. Silver Linings Playbook bagged a cool $5.6 million.

Indeed, 40 states now have some form of subsidy or incentive that allow filmmakers to defray income and/or sales taxes incurred during filming. Thirteen states even offer so-called “transferrable film tax credits” that allow filmmakers to convert unused credits into cash—at taxpayer expense, of course.

[…]

[T]ax and policy analysts who have studied film tax credit programs say industry claims of job creation are vastly overstated. Worse, say critics, they drain vital state resources from things like education and healthcare.

[…]

What’s more, the Tax Foundation says “that states lose money by offering tax credits for film production” and that “movie production incentives are costly and fail to live up to their promises” because “they create mostly temporary positions with limited options for upward mobility.”

Illegal Immigration Costs $113 Billion to US; Illegals Pay only $13 Billion in Taxes

Posted by FactReal on February 4, 2013

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS A NET FISCAL BURDEN ON U.S. TAXPAYERS
A 2010 study found that:
1) Illegal aliens get more in government services than they pay in taxes
Illegal aliens impose more than $113 billion per year in costs on the U.S. government at all levels — federal, state, and local — and pay only $13.4 billion in taxes, creating an annual net fiscal deficit of almost $100 billion, which have to be paid by the U.S. taxpayers. (Scroll down for table.)

2) Illegal aliens file tax returns to get free money from the IRS
As we previously reported, illegal aliens file income tax returns to get “refunds” from the IRS thanks to tax credits like the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). At the federal level, their tax credits exceed what little income taxes they owe. E.g., illegal aliens owe $1.6 billion in taxes, but are able to deduct $3.9 billion as tax credits, resulting in a net refund of $2.3 billion from the IRS to the illegal aliens. (Scroll down for table.)

These tax benefits are the main reason why some illegal aliens file tax returns — not because they suddenly care about the U.S. laws … laws they broke when they entered this country illegally, when they decided to work without authorization and use fake or stolen identities.

Obama Gov’t Wastes $10.3 Billion in Improper Unemployment Payments in 2012

Posted by FactReal on January 31, 2013

CNSNews.com reports:

The Federal-State Unemployment Insurance program paid out $10.3 billion in benefits in 2012 to people who should not have received the money, according to the Department of Labor (DOL).

The data provided on the government website, paymentaccuracy.gov, shows those payments amount to 11.42 percent of all the unemployment insurance checks handed out – an increase from 11.36 percent in 2011 and in excess of the government’s “target” for overpayments of 9.66  percent.

[…]

The “program contents” portion of the website states that 70 percent of the $10.3 billion that was paid out in 2012 was done so through one of three scenarios: “individuals did not meet their active work search requirements, continued to claim UI benefits after they had returned to work, or were ineligible for benefits because they voluntarily quit  their jobs or were discharged for misconduct.”

Hillary Clinton No $$$ for Benghazi Security, but Spent Millions for Art, Kindles, Obama Books, Mosques Restorations, …

Posted by FactReal on January 24, 2013

Hillary Clinton 'Benghazi Bob'
(Image by Looking Spoon via Weasel Zippers)
During yesterday’s Benghazi testimony, Hillary Clinton lied about the State Department not having enough funding to provide proper security for the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

But in fact the State Department ($50+ billion dollar annual budget) had enough money for these items:
● $4.5 million for Art in Embassies
● $16 million dollars on 2,500 kindle book readers at the drastically inflated price of $6,600 per device (that retails for $189)
● $$ Millions to preserve mosques and minarets in 27 different Islamic countries
● $150,000+ for a Chevy Volt and its charging station for the US Embassy in Austria
● $150,000 to spend on a book about the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Italy
● $79,000 to spend on Obama’s books
● $20,000 on a portrait of Obama

And also:
● $7.9 billion dollars for Obama’s Global Health Initiative
● $2.9 billion for international debt relief
● $2.2 billion to strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan
● $770 million dollar Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund for the failed Arab Spring which has put extremist Islamists in power
● $587 million for student exchange programs
● $469 million for global climate change
● $200 million dollars were wasted on Iraqi police training that never went anywhere

The Obama administration repeatedly rejected requests for more security in Benghazi, even though Islamist militias attacked the consulate multiple times prior to the 9/11/2012 attack and Ambassador Stevens repeatedly notified the administration about increasing security threats in Libya.

WE DON’T NEED TO PAY MORE PROPERTY TAXES TO DEAL WITH CAT OVER-POPULATION
We need to stop thinking that government is the answer. When your house has a leaky faucet, you don’t call government. You call a professional or fix it yourself.

We “the people” can help reduce the cat over-population. Homeowners can use the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program to manage stray and feral cat populations by trapping the cats, taking them to the vet to be neutered/spayed and vaccinated, and then returning them to the same location where they were collected. Cat traps can be rented from vet clinics or shelters — for a low fee and a returnable deposit.

The Trap-Neuter-Return method has been so successful that many pro-animal groups recommend the use of it. For instance, the ASPCA, Human Society of Greater Miami, Alley Cat Allies, The Cat Network, etc.

Doing it yourself will be cheaper than paying the additional, lifetime property tax that would come if voters approve the animal services funding referendum on the Miami-Dade ballot for Nov. 6, 2012. Homeowners could do a better job. Or maybe a business-savvy person can start a business to provide that service to homeowners.

Alley Cat Allies has guides and videos to educate the public on the trap-neuter-return method:

NO MORE TAXES
We cannot continue to allow Miami politicians to put our house as a collateral to fund their latest trick to get our money. They always come up with altruistic-sounding reasons to raise our taxes: “This tax is for the children,” “This one for seniors,” “This other tax will create jobs,” etc. Now is “to decrease the killing of adoptable dogs and cats.” Property owners have become the modern slaves…and they cannot run away. And politicians know it.

If you still have a burning desire to fund animal services programs, you can send your check directly to the many animal shelters in Miami-Dade. We don’t need more taxes.

The more property taxes you approve, the less you own your property
