Obama’s Unqualified RINO Approved by Senate for Defense Secretary

Posted by FactReal on February 26, 2013

Allahpundit explains the crazy votes:

The final vote: 58-41, which is a bit closer than the 71-27 margin on cloture earlier today. There are 15 Republicans who think voters are too dumb to realize that the cloture vote is the one that assured Hagel’s confirmation and that, by voting yes on that and no on the meaningless final vote, they can pretend that they “opposed” Hagel. And in fairness, they’re probably right; most voters likely are that dumb. But let’s name those 15 anyway:

Alexander Ayotte Blunt Burr Chambliss
Coburn Collins Corker Flake Graham
Hatch McCain Murkowski Sessions Thune

I can’t believe a single one of those 15, let alone the scores of Democrats who voted for this guy, seriously believes he’s prepared to run the Defense Department…The next time McCain and Graham pound the table about defense cuts or O’s foreign policy, remember that they both voted to send Chuck Hagel on to the final vote. That’s how serious they are.

As for Republicans voting yes, there were four: Cochran, Johanns, Shelby, and … Rand Paul, who voted no twice on cloture. That’s the most bizarre vote array on a nominee I could imagine.

Liberatarian Rand Paul Voted for Chuck Hagel
Allahpundit writes:

Here’s Paul’s reasoning:

“I voted no because I wanted more information and I think that part of what the Senate does is try to get information about the nominees,” Paul told reporters …“There are many things I disagree with Chuck Hagel on…but the president gets to choose political appointees,” Paul said. […]

If “the president gets to choose political appointees” is sufficient reason to vote yes, then (a) we should get rid of the Senate’s advise-and-consent responsibility and (b) at the very least we should not be filibustering nominees, as Rand Paul voted to do twice. Even if he did that purely to squeeze the White House for more information, why would he vote yes on the final vote when they never gave him that information? And if the president’s entitled to his nominee of choice, why would Paul demand more info about Hagel in the first place? Just rubber-stamp him. Vote yes on every vote, no questions asked.

NO MORE FREE CHECKING ACCOUNTS…Thanks to Obama-Dodd-Frank Financial “Reform” (Check here who voted for this)

Posted by FactReal on February 7, 2011

Democrats Celebrate Senate Passing the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform (July 15, 2010)

Via Examiner.com

The so-called financial “reform” bill that passed Congress — the Dodd-Frank Act — is wiping out many free checking accounts, since many banks can’t afford its red tape unless they either charge a monthly fee, or require a minimum balance of well over $1,000.

Ted Frank’s bank is now charging him a $15 monthly fee and $0.50 per check on his formerly free checking account, thanks to the consumer “protection” red tape in the Dodd-Frank Act, which was recently signed into law by the President.  (Dodd-Frank is named after its sponsors, the corrupt Chris Dodd (D-CT), a Senator who is retiring this year after being caught getting unethical favors from lobbyists; and Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the House Banking Committee chairman who helped spawn the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacles that cost taxpayers up to $400 billion in bailouts).

Title: The Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act
Full Title:
(Trojan Horse)
An Act to promote the financial stability of the United States by improving accountability and transparency in the financial system, to end “too big to fail”, to protect the American taxpayer by ending bailouts, to protect consumers from abusive financial services practices, and for other purposes.
A.K.A.: Dodd–Frank, Wall Street Reform, Financial Regulatory Reform
Public Law: 111-203 (PDF)
Bill Number: H.R. 4173
December 2, 2009: Proposed by Democrats Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd
June 30, 2010: Passed the House: 237-192 with most Democrats voting in favor and three useful-idiot-Republicans Cao, Castle, and Jones.
July 15, 2010: Passed the Senate: 60-39 with all Democrats (except Feingold (D-WI)) and three RINOs Scott Brown (R-MA), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) voting in favor of this monstrosity.
July 21, 2010: Signed into law by Obama.

Republican-In-Name-Only (RINO) Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina thinks so. He voted today to support Obama’s leftist nominee Elena Kagan for the U.S. Supreme Court because “President Obama won [the 2008 elections].”

Graham joined 12 Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee and voted to move up Kagan’s nomination for full Senate vote. The rest of the Republicans voted against: Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama), Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Jon Kyl (R-Arizona), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma).
The Committee’s roll call vote: 13-6. [1]

Graham on his vote for Kagan:

“I’m going to vote for her and that doesn’t mean I’m pro-choice. I’m very pro-life. I’m going to vote for her because I believe the last election had consequences…” [2] (Video minute 14:53)

Graham used the same excuse when he voted for leftist then-Justice-nominee Sonia Sotomayor:

“I voted in the Senate Judiciary Committee for Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court…Judge Sotomayor is definitely a more liberal judge than a Republican president would have nominated, but elections have consequences.” [3]

Thus, following Senator Graham’s stupid logic, all Americans must blindly submit to Democrats for the next 2.5 years since they won the 2008 elections. Did Democrats submit to Bush and the Republicans? No!

RINOs are blind: They cannot see that Obama and the Democrats are destroying America!! These are not normal times.

Crist: I’m Leaving the Republican Party (…to Continue Helping the Democrats)

Posted by FactReal on April 29, 2010

Finally! Charlie Crist leaves the Republican Party…maybe he should join the Crist Party since it’s all about him and not what’s best for the country. For years, he has been the darling of the leftist media that propped him as the “popular” and “charismatic” governor of Florida.

RINOs like Charlie Crist have damaged the GOP – they work inside the Republican Party to undermine it and to benefit the Democrats. Dede Scozzafava, anyone? By running as an independent, Crist will only help the Democrats in the 2010 Senate race. He will pull to his side Republican voters who still fall for the utopian message from the unicorns moderate politicians. If Crist had any principles, he would have resigned from the Senate race months ago.

Via Townhall:

“I don’t have either party helping me. But I need you. I need you more than ever,” the governor said, surrounded by cheering supporters carrying signs that included “Democrats for Crist.” [snip]

Moderate Republican Senate candidates [a.k.a. RINOs] in several other states, including Arizona, Utah, Kentucky and New Hampshire, are facing strong challenges from conservatives supported by the tea party movement that sprung up in opposition to Obama’s policies. The governor has spent the past several years working closely with Democrats and embracing other causes not popular among conservatives. [snip]

Just two weeks ago, he alienated many powerful Republican and business interests by vetoing a measure that would have made it easier to fire teachers and linked their pay to student test scores. At the same time, he scored points with the influential teachers union and other traditionally Democratic constituents who won’t have a say in the GOP primary. Many of those teachers attended his rally Thursday.

Hours before his announcement, Crist was talking about Obama, saying he spoke with him about a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that could threaten Florida coastline.

“He went ahead and volunteered any assistance the federal government can do,” Crist said.

Meek predicted Crist’s independent candidacy will be good news for him.”

GLENN BECK responds to critics: “I don’t want a third party”

Posted by FactReal on February 23, 2010

Glenn Beck responded yesterday to conservatives not happy with his CPAC speech.
Glenn Beck: “It seems that some people think that I was wanting some sort of third party. Nope.
I just think the American people…just want a party that stands for something.
You know — it’s holding your own side’s feet to the fire that delivers a party like that.

Sure, it’s important to acknowledge the individual Republicans fighting the good fight. I think we do that on this program. CPAC — they had already done a good job of that …most of the speeches during the weekend were made by people I tend to agree with…If you watch this show at all, you know that I highlight good conservatives inside the Republican Party. Jim DeMint’s on this show….I think….as much as I’m on this show…

The problem is progressivism. Does anyone seriously think that Mike Pence is who I’m talking about when I say Republican progressives?…

I don’t want a third party. I think that might be a very bad idea.”
